Numerical Solutions of Effects of
Radiation and Chemical Reaction on Unsteady MHD Free Convection Flow Past an
Impulsively Started Vertical Plate

This paper deals
with the work studies the radiation effect on unsteady two-dimensional hydro-magnetic, laminar natural
convection flow of a viscous, incompressible, radiating and chemically reacting
fluid past an impulsively started vertical plate embedded in a porous medium.
The governing equations along with the boundary conditions
are first cast into a dimensionless form by a similarity transformation and the
resulting coupled differential equations are then solved by the Crank-Nicolson
method. Numerical results have been
performed for the effects of the controlling thermo fluid and hydrodynamic
parameters on dimensionless velocity, temperature and concentration and also on
the local and average skin friction, local and average Nusselt number and local
Sherwood and average number. The numerical predications have been compared with
the existing information in the literature and good agreement is obtained.
